Something that always bothers me especially during COVID times when most of us are predominantly shopping online, is a well funded cosmetic / makeup brand failing to properly display shades of its product on their website. It's 2021. Online shopping is not a novelty. There should be no excuses for this sort of shoddy marketing.
Case in point, the Chanel Les Beiges Water-Fresh Tint foundation on the Chanel website (or Macys, or Bloomingdales) website. On the Chanel website, there is only one color swatch. No swatches on how it looks on various skin tones (even if those look awfully photoshopped). Minimum details about color and the color names are different on the retailer website and colors mislabeled across websites. I don't blame the retailers in this case as I think they get their pictures & details from the Chanel website. However, Chanel could do a better job with their marketing of this product.

Chanel Les Beiges Water Fresh Tint in Medium Deep |
Now on to the actual product - Chanel Les Beiges Water Fresh Tint in Medium Deep. This is Chanel's attempt at a tinted foundation in their Les Beiges makeup line. The product comes in a pump style bottle with a brush. When you press the pump, it dispenses a clear gel like substance with tiny brown beads (micro droplets). When you mix the product (which you are supposed to with the brush provided), the beads break down and release the color. It's a pretty interesting product and this is the first time I've seen a product with this tech.

Chanel Water Fresh Tint in Medium Deep |
The Chanel Water Fresh Tint is not a heavy product. It goes on thinly and has a light refreshing neroli fragrance. What I liked about it was that it is a great product for a natural make up look or a no makeup look. It doesn't feel heavy on and I do like the neroli fragrance. The fragrance was not long lasting though it only lasted for a few minutes after applying. This is good for every day make up for when you don't want to spend the time on heavy layering of products.
The Chanel Water Fresh in Medium Deep was a good fit for my Armani Lumious Silk Foundation #9, Bobbi Brown in Golden and Charlotte Tilbury Light Wonder #9 matching skin tone. I was glad that Chanel did have multiple darker shades for darker and brown skin tones. These shades ranged from Light Deep, Deep, Medium Deep to Deep Plus.
What I did not like about the Chanel Water Fresh Tint in Medium Deep is that it has a very light coverage. Blemishes and spots are definitely not covered. However, blemishes and spots do get a little blurred out so it's a good product for light makeup or natural looking makeup. This product is also not buildable and Chanel recommends you apply it on top of foundation for better coverage. The con for this product is that it goes on dry and my skin felt dry after application. So dry that I couldn't properly apply my cream blush easily.
Overall, I like this product and I think the Chanel Water Fresh Tint in Medium Deep is a great light foundation for everyday makeup and for a natural makeup look. I can see myself using it on a daily basis. I'm also glad to see a brand like Chanel showing more representation towards people of color by having more inclusive shades. I wish their website did a better job showcasing this.
The Chanel Les Beiges Water Fresh Tint in Medium Deep retails for $65.
